Demigod Daycare takes a common theme and story many of us have already been told and places an unfamiliar twist on it. This storybook takes the well known Olympian gods and recreates them as children all residing in a daycare. While in daycare the child gods are then presented with the 9 goddesses who visit the class to teach them a little about their history. Throughout the Demigod Daycare storybook, we are taken along as the goddesses tell the stories of the birth of Artemis, the birth of Athena, Hera's marriage and Demeter's search. The layout of this storybook was very captivating and easily led you from one section to the next.
"The Dance of the Muses" by Guilio Romano. For this particular storybook, I really enjoyed the way that the different pages where set up as Exhibit One, Exhibit Two, and so on. This idea seems very unique and really makes you feel as if you are moving through a museum and stopping to read about each different exhibit. The Tour Begins, introduction page of this story book, does a great job of illustrating the atmosphere and setting making you feel like you are right in the middle of a library. Each new page for the four different exhibits also contains a picture that goes hand and hand with the story being told, helping to bring it to life.
The Fairytale Case Files took a very interesting and captivating approach to this assignment. I love reading and my favorite genre is mystery; therefore I was very drawn to this story book solely based off of the title. The author for this story book did a great job of creating a simple flow from one section to the next. They also did a great job of keeping the reader engaged and wanting to read more. Throughout the story, you are kept up to date as you follow along with the detective Wolfgang Forrester who is from the Enchanted Forrest.
